What's New

It's been a very busy three months for Acoustic Frontiers! We completed over 12 projects for clients across USA and Canada.
There was a good mix of smaller, lower budget home recording studios mixed in with a few higher budget home theaters and a couple of high-end two channel projects for good measure.
Two of these home recording studios have been written up as case studies. We used multiple subs and equalization in both of them, and the results in terms of the improvement in the critical sub-100Hz area speak for themselves, in terms of the veracity of this approach.
The first project was for a local producer, King Tide Audio. Here's the before and after results:

The second project was for a sound mixer, Nowell Valeri. His case study  can be found here.
Three months ago, we reported in our newsletter on the upgrade of our home theater "lab" with JBL Synthesis SCL-3 speakers and SDP-75 processor. We wanted to report back to let you know that these are the best "reasonably priced" Home Theater speakers we have yet heard. Simply outstanding performance! The SCL-2, on the right in the photo below, is also now shipping.

There were a lot of fantastic films in 2018, from massive box office smashes like Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther to artful indies, including a major step up for Netflix when it comes to being taken seriously in the film world (see The Ballad of Buster Scruggs). We’ve all got our...
Wanting to have a top of the range R&D facility, Dynaudio Labs created Jupiter, a colossal impulse-response room. Its sole job is to measure speakers.
