Creating a system you love shouldn't be difficult. The Acoustic Frontiers blog is here to help.
One of our major projects in February was revamping the audio system and improving the room acoustics in a large conference room. The project proceeded much like a residential project, in that the first step was undertaking a thorough design review. Like many home theaters and listening rooms there were obvious and audibly fatal design errors made by whomever installed the system. I'm not sure the system was ever 'designed' as there were too few speakers for even coverage. Acoustically the room is difficult, with low ceilings and carpeting, suffering from a severe imbalances in reverberation time.
